Ken Massey: Still Life Demonstration

Ken Massey demonstrates painting a still-life using the Henry Hensche Color Study Method that was taught at The Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA. He also talks about the teaching of this philosophy of Henry Hensche.

I have learned so much about color relationships through years of practice and a lot of wasted paint. But not wasted time. My own vision, use of color and color mixing has improved through earnest practice and an understanding of this approach and the method. I had a lot of academic training prior to this, but I am always amazed why many painters don’t seem to even see the difference between a tonal painting and full spectrum color painting.
